![]() ![]() chipset driver is also available on third-party website Station-drivers. While AMD's website doesn't publicly list these chipset drivers yet, the upcoming driver is beginning to be listed by motherboard partners like ASRock, who has published the driver for its X670E Taichi Carrara flagship motherboard. With the new WHQL-signed chipset driver version 5., AMD will deliver the 3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer Driver version 1.0.0.7 that is expected to bring the special optimizations to Windows 11 as well as Windows 10. This didn't really sound like a hype talk just to get people interested as indeed there were technical reasons why such optimization will have been necessary as it is related to how the V-cache has been implemented across CCDs in the new 7000X3D chips. Aside from that, more performance improvements and optimizations are coming with the upcoming AMD Ryzen chipset driver as well.įor those not familiar with the matter, back in January, soon after the company had announced its Ryzen 7000X3D series chips, AMD promised to deliver special optimization for the new 3D V-cache CPUs for Windows 11 and Windows 10. ![]() We'll have to wait and see if AMD releases this same driver publicly on its website to verify if this 3D V-Cache driver is real or just a marketing gimmick. For example, earlier today, the company released its latest WHQL display driver which promises to fix DirectX 11-based "situational" performance issues affecting both Radeon GPUs and Ryzen processors. However, we don't have an official look at how this new V-cache driver operates. ![]() ![]() We wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft has also studied other optimizations to the scheduler as well, including optimizations for 元-sensitive workloads. With Windows 11, Microsoft has already improved the OS's scheduler significantly over Windows 10 to support hybrid microarchitecture such as Intel's new Alder Lake CPUs. If the driver knows which workloads are more 元 cache sensitive than others, it could theoretically prioritize those workloads over others. If we had to take a wild guess, we'd say this could be some type of new scheduling optimization for Ryzen CPUs. It's even stranger that this driver is exclusive to Windows 10, which either confirms that AMD has partnered with Microsoft to bring this driver natively to Windows 11, or this driver doesn't control the 元 cache at all. ![]()
